Monica Maurin has been sharing mindfulness practices with students both corporately and privately since 2011. She has created and produced a range of mindfulness programs and meditation recordings for both children and adults, tailoring them to meet the unique needs of her clients.
Monica has had a dynamic career as an internationally Certified Court Reporter, working with organizations including the Ontario Securities Commission and the Law Society of Ontario. She also co-founded a boutique employment law firm in Toronto as a Law Clerk in civil litigation. She is familiar with fast-paced, often stressful corporate environments.
Monica is a 700+-hour Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga and Yoga Nidra Teacher, and a Certified Yin/Yang Yoga & Mindfulness teacher, having studied at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Massachusetts. She has also studied with renowned teachers, including Ananda Xenia Splawinski, Sarah Powers, and other international mindfulness and Yoga leaders. She holds certification in Mindfulness Fundamentals from Mindful Schools USA and in Applied Mindfulness Meditation from the University of Toronto.
Monica has guided hundreds of individuals and groups in mindfulness practices—from corporate and government teams to private professionals, from families to factory-floor employees and community organizations.
In addition to other volunteer offerings, from 2015 to 2021, Monica developed and facilitated mindfulness programming, leading workshops, retreats, and weekly sessions for Gilda’s Toronto, a cancer support center. She taught weekly classes for staff, graduate students, interns, and Gilda’s Toronto members. Her classes incorporated guided meditation, mindfulness-based stories, and interactive discussion, creating engaging and supportive learning experiences both in person and online.
Monica has been featured on CBC Radio and continues to offer sessions to those curious to learn mindfulness practices.
